Mike completed his Master of Education (Education Psychology) degree in 2007 and has been a Registered Psychologist since January 2008. He previously completed Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts degrees and a Diploma in Inclusive Education. From 2008 until 2019, Mike worked full-time as a psychologist in the education system in Northern and Southern Saskatchewan while working part-time in private practice. In 2020 he opened his private practice, where he continues to work on learning and ADHD assessments in children and adults and counselling adolescents and adults. Mike has a special interest in the impacts of psychology on Indigenous students and their families. His current counselling focus is with 2SLGBTQ+ people and Indigenous clients. He is an “Approved” mental health service provider under the Non-Insured Health Benefits program of Indigenous Services Canada. Mike has worked with various community and health organizations to support and train front-line volunteers who work with vulnerable individuals. Mike works from various counselling perspectives, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, person-centred, and Somatic Experiencing approaches. He does not believe in a “one size fits all” when working with people.
