Registered Doctoral Psychologist

Mike earned his Doctor of Philosophy in 2024, following a Master of Education in Educational Psychology in 2007. He has been a Registered Psychologist since January 2008 and became a Registered Doctoral Psychologist in 2024. His academic background includes Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts degrees, as well as a Diploma in Inclusive Education.

From 2008 to 2019, Mike dedicated his efforts to the education system in Northern and Southern Saskatchewan as a full-time psychologist, while also maintaining a part-time private practice. In 2020, he established his private practice, where he specializes in learning and ADHD assessments for both children and adults, alongside providing counselling for adolescents and adults.

Mike is particularly passionate about understanding the psychological impacts on Indigenous students and their families. Currently, his counselling practice emphasizes support for 2SLGBTQ+ individuals and Indigenous clients. He is recognized as an “Approved” mental health service provider under the Non-Insured Health Benefits program of Indigenous Services Canada.

In addition to his practice, Mike collaborates with various community and health organizations to train and support front-line volunteers working with vulnerable populations. He employs a diverse range of counselling methodologies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, person-centred approaches, and Somatic Experiencing. Mike firmly believes that there is no “one size fits all” solution in his work with clients, emphasizing the importance of tailored approaches to meet individual needs.
