About Group Training

Customized group training can be organized for volunteers, community-based organizations, and health regions. Topics include listening and communication skills, assertiveness, relationships and boundaries, working with vulnerable groups, understanding anxiety, addictions, and self-care. Training length and content are tailored to meet the needs of your organization.

Small Group Sessions

Up to 10 individuals focusing on enhancing communication within teams and with clients.

Large Group Sessions

Groups of up to 25 or 30 individuals to increase knowledge and basic skills related to mental health.

Getting Started with Group Training

Group training always begins with taking the time needed to fully answer three questions: 1. What are the training goals within your organization? 2. What is going right in your organization? and, 3. What is interfering with achieving your mission? With this information, our team will work with you to develop a training plan that suits your needs and budget.

When Group Training Works Best

Group training works best when staff feels heard and shares the training goals that have been identified. This is where collaboration before the training is needed most.  Below are two examples of group training sessions.

Participants explore and practice a variety of interpersonal communication skills such as active listening, effective questions, and reflection without judgment.

Participants learn and practice essential assertiveness skills such as responding to criticism, constructive feedback, and dealing with difficult situations.
